Just before the Ram Head peak there is an even higher hill. One can hike to the top of the hill for an AMAZING view of St John and surrounding islands.
Before starting the hike make sure to wear shoes that are appropriate for walking on unsteady rocks. Most of the trail is very easy, but there is an area which requires walking on a rock beach. This would be challenging without the right kind of footwear. Pack beverages and snacks, or maybe even lunch. Prepare with the right kind of sun protection for you. The trail starts out with shade, but close to the peak there are no trees for shade and it could get quite hot on a sunny day.
After you’ve accomplished your hike, spend some time relaxing at the Salt Pond Beach. If you are hungry there are a few local restaurants in the Coral Bay area- Skinny Legs is a favorite!
