If you share your home with a dog and you are in lockdown because of Covid 19 for example, your dog’s bad behaviour may be the result of sheer boredom. Your canine friend needs mental stimulation. We have come to the rescue! Keep reading to find some activities that will cure your dog of his bad antics and will impress you with how intelligent he/she really is.
The first activity we really like is one we found online and called a “food puzzle activity”. There is a variety of puzzle toys and one we really like is called Kong. You simply fill the puzzle toy with your dog’s favorite snack (low calorie) and let your dog figure out how to get the snack out of the toy. Another fun and easy activity is “find the snack”. Simply place some calorie wise doggy snacks in various places in another room. Next, permit the dog in the room to search out the snacks. Even though they are domesticated, dogs retain their instinct to hunt out their food. Upstairs, downstairs. Perfect. You and your pet are getting some valuable exercise. Have fun!
Visit your local pet store, or search out some of these puzzle activities online. There is a wide variety of activities available and this will satisfy your dog’s need for mental stimulation and companionship.
